Covenant Preschool is off to a great start this school year. We have 60 children this year that we are helping learn and grow in knowledge, social skills, and spirituality. We have 15 two-year-olds in the Mother’s Day Out program. For many of these little ones, this is their first time away from their family as they begin learning and interacting with other kids. We have 18 kids in the three-year-old preschool class. You can see some of their fabulous artwork hanging on the walls. The four-year-old class has 27 kids getting ready for kindergarten. Walk by their classroom, and you will likely hear them saying the alphabet, counting, or naming the days of the week. Drive by the church, and you will often see the kids playing on the playground or learning about nature and the world in their outdoor classroom.
In addition to Bible stories and songs they learn in class, they have a weekly chapel where they discover a Bible lesson designed just for kids their age. It is not unusual to hear the kids singing a blessing before snack time. We want all the kids to know that Jesus loves them.
The fall Consignment Sale, which goes to support the preschool, sold $5,840 worth of merchandise with 28 consigners. The preschool earned $2,500 from the sale. A big thanks to all those who helped out with the sale.
We are very proud of our Mother’s Morning Out and Preschool ministries at Covenant Church. We are so blessed to have our nine staff, teachers, and the two subs who help.
