“My Soul Thirsts for You”
Reflections from Psalm 63:1
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” — Psalm 63:1 (NIV)
Have you ever felt spiritually dry — like you were wandering through a desert, knowing something was missing but not quite sure how to fill it? King David wrote these words while he was physically in the wilderness, but his words reveal a deeper truth: his greatest longing wasn’t just for safety or comfort, but for God Himself.
To seek God means more than just looking for answers or relief. It’s the pursuit of God’s presence — not His gifts, but His person. Seeking God means turning our hearts toward Him in prayer, in worship, in quiet reflection. It’s choosing to slow down and listen, to open Scripture not out of duty but out of desire to know the One who wrote it.
To thirst for God is to feel a deep, soul-level need for something only God can provide. We were created for relationship with Him — and until we’re regularly drawing from that Living Water, other things will never fully satisfy.
When David says, “my whole being longs for you,” he’s not holding anything back. His mind, heart, emotions, and will are all pointed in one direction — toward deeper communion with God.
Application: Make Room to Seek
This month, try creating intentional space to seek God each day. Even 10 minutes of quiet can become holy ground when used to read Scripture, reflect, and pray with honesty. Begin each session by simply reading Psalm 63:1 and letting it shape your heart’s posture. Ask yourself:
What am I truly longing for today?
Have I made space for God to meet me?
Am I seeking God’s presence — not just His help?
You might be surprised how a thirsty soul becomes refreshed when it draws near to the One who satisfies.

📖 New Bible Study: Jesus and the Temple
Wednesdays at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, beginning April 30
The Jerusalem temple stood at the heart of Jewish life and worship during the time of Jesus—and several of the most significant moments in Jesus’ life and ministry took place in its shadow.
Join us for a four-week study entitled Jesus and the Temple beginning Tuesday, April 30 at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Together, we’ll explore the purpose and significance of the temple, and how Jesus reinterprets and realigns its meaning in light of the Kingdom of God.
We’ll engage with the latest archaeological discoveries and historical insights to deepen our understanding of scripture and the world of Jesus. This study is designed to enrich your knowledge and strengthen your discipleship journey. Whether you come in the morning or evening, we hope you’ll join us as we step into the sacred space of scripture and uncover its modern-day meaning.

New Sermon Series – “A Pleasing Life”
Exploring 1 Thessalonians: A Call to Live for What Matters Most
What does it mean to live a life that pleases God? In a world that pulls us in many directions, the Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians offers a clear and timely message: live in a way that honors the Lord, builds others up, and reflects your faith in every season of life.
Beginning this week, we invite you to join us for a new four-week sermon series titled “A Pleasing Life,” as we explore the book of 1 Thessalonians — one of the earliest letters in the New Testament. Written by Paul to a young and vibrant church facing both persecution and uncertainty, this letter encourages believers to remain faithful, live with integrity, and grow in love for God and one another.
Each week, we’ll take a deep look into how Paul’s words still speak to us today as we follow Jesus:
Week 1 (1 Thessalonians 1:1–10): Faith and Example
Discover how faith, love, and hope formed the foundation of the Thessalonian church and how our example can inspire others.
Week 2 (1 Thessalonians 2:1–16): Ministering with Integrity
Explore the importance of sincerity, compassion, and boldness in how we live and share our faith.
Week 3 (1 Thessalonians 2:17–3:13): Strengthening Faith in Trials
Learn how Paul encouraged believers to stand firm and find joy even when facing hardship and suffering.
Week 4 (1 Thessalonians 4:1–12): Living to Please God
A practical and inspiring message on living a quiet life, loving others deeply, and honoring God in every area of life.
Whether you’re new to church or have been walking with Christ for many years, this series will deepen your understanding of what it means to live a life that pleases God — not just on Sundays, but every day.
Make plans to be with us each week, and invite a friend to come along. Together, let’s grow in faith, character, and love as we learn what it truly means to live “a pleasing life.”
